Under 8's big day out at Portman Road

The Seasiders Under 8's Reds and Whites had a weekend off from playing football last Saturday so enjoyed a trip to Portman Road instead.

Coach, Damian Richer, organised the afternoon at Portman Road for a matchday experience.

The Junior Seasiders arrived at Midday and had a 45 minute training session with an ITFC coach in the fanzone area. Ladies from Ipswich Rugby Club were also there and the kids got to mix it up, playing some tag rugby. After chucking the egg shaped ball around, it was time for a tour of the ground. This included the children sitting in the Directors Box, media suite and they were very fortunate that Oxford United let them in the changing room as this was being prepared for their team.  They then went through the tunnel and met Freddie Sears, where the kids were able to ask him questions.

The last part of the tour saw the team sitting in the dugout with mascot Crazee. It was unfortunate the ITFC First Team couldn't win, losing 1-0 to Oxford, but we're sure the team will remember the day for all the right reasons.

Thanks to all at ITFC Community Trust for making the day a special one.
