It was the final pre-season game for the Under 18 as they visited an impressive Newmarket Town ground, and on display was excellent football and high-tempo from both sides.

Despite losing 3-1 the Seasiders were out of the traps quickly and went into the lead with a tidy finish from Jayden Brown but despite having vast amount of the ball and plenty of chances were unable to add to their lead.

The home side did equalise midway through the first half and then shortly afterwards took the lead to go in 2-1 up at half time.

Both sides made numerous changes throughout the game and the second half saw the Seasiders having most of the ball as the home side sat back but the difference was Newmarket were more clinical in front of goal when their chances came and the third was a great strike from outside the box giving Ollie Fisher no chance.

Despite the defeat it was an impressive display of football from the youngsters keeping possession for long periods of the game and bodes well for the weeks ahead starting with a home game against new U18 team Coplestonians next week.
