Seasiders Select Firework Event Good Causes
The annual Firework Spectacular, as well as being the club’s biggest fundraiser of the year, has raised many thousands of pounds for good causes over the years and this year we invited applications from local causes to receive a share of the proceeds from this years event on Sunday 3rd November.
We received well over 50 applications, all incredibly worthy of our support. We tried to support those who perhaps don’t have as much access to funds or grants as some other causes, therefore making more of a difference.
After much discussion, The four good causes we have chosen are-
- 3 Trimley boys suffering with the life-limiting bone condition MHEDA, regularly travelling to Great Ormond Street and Edinburgh hospitals for treatment, causing financial hardship for the family. We are pleased to say the boys will also be pressing the plunger to start the display.
- Fizzability, a meeting group for adults of working age with disabilities. The group arrange days out and activities and it also gives the carers back at home a much needed break.
- Trimley St Mary PTA who are looking to replace some dilapidated outdoor play equipment for their early years children.
- The Felixstowe Hospital League of Friends who are attempting to fund a new x-ray machine for the general hospital, keeping vital services in our Town.
10 other causes receive family tickets that we hope can be used as rewards for those involved in the groups, or as raffle prizes or similar to raise extra funds themselves.

As for the event itself, last years hugely successful night meant we were able to donate over £1000 to good causes. With your support, and favourable weather we’d love to be able to do the same this year. Advance tickets go on sale this coming Friday, 4th October from a number of outlets around the town as well as online via our new e-tickets through the main club website.
