EJA Under 15s Win Semi-Final
A special mention has to be made about our under 15s. Here’s a report from Craig Chidlow. Thanks Craig.
Eastern Junior Alliance Under 15s Presidents Cup Semi Final.
Southend Manor 3-4 Felixstowe and Walton AET. (3-3 after 90 minutes)
What a game. We hit them hard early, got at them and went 2-0 up with Seth getting both goals in the first 10 minutes. Southend regrouped and came back at us and it was 2-2 at the break.
Early in the 2nd half they scored and put us under a lot of pressure. I felt our name was on the cup when they missed 2 gilt edged chances and sure enough, in the last minute of normal time, Harvey Wright lobbed their keeper beautifully to take it to extra time.
Both teams cancelled each other out in extra time but we held our nerve in the penalties putting 4 of our 5 away and our keeper Rory Willis saving two. I’m So so proud of the boys. Their resilience and togetherness is outstanding. Roll on the Final.
