Felixstowe & Walton U14 Red 4 v 2 AFC Kesgrave U14 Blue

With just three very important league games left this season, Coach Jason has arranged several friendlies to fill in the blanks on the fixture calendar. AFC Kesgrave Blue currently play their football in Div 1, so it was a good chance for the Seasiders to test themselves against higher level opponents.

The Fxt Academy surface was in pretty good condition considering the recent weather, but there was a strong wind gusting across the pitch throughout.

We know from past experience that Div 1 is a physical league, but that is now a characteristic we have in the team, and it is fair to say it was a feisty friendly!

It was a good game to watch, as we matched up to Kesgrave in all areas, and ultimately came out on top, through commitment, attitude and skill.

First half goals from Jake and Matt, with one in reply, allowed us to turn around 2-1 up.

Jake increased our lead further with two second half goals to complete his hat-trick, whilst Kesgrave got a late consolation from a direct free kick.

F.T. 4-2.
A very good result and performance for The Seasiders, which will hopefully stand them in good stead for next weeks home league match-up with Brantham.

Jason gave MOM to Matt for his three assists and one goal.
