Preview- The Seasiders visit Canvey Island in good heart, and with hopefully a full squad to choose from, after last Saturdays 5-3 FA Cup win over Southend Manor. Canvey were 2-1 victors at home to Waltham Abbey in the same competition last weekend and, like the Seasiders, drew their opening league match, a 2-2 draw at newly promoted Stowmarket.

The two sides didn't meet last season, but drew 3-3 in the final match of the 20/21 season, hours before lockdown! Canvey had enjoyed a 3-1 win in the corresponding fixture at Park Lane earlier in the campaign.

The Gulls have an illustrious history at non--league level, rising from the Essex Senior League to the Conference in the early part of the Century and enjoyed FA Cup success and also two appearances in the FA Trophy Final, beating Forest Green at Villa Park in 2000/01 and losing to Hednesford at the same venue in 2003/04.
