U8 Reds away vs Ipswich Athletic
Keen for our first win, we started strongly and always looked the better side.
With 2 goals in quick succession following long runs from Olly, it was starting to look like it could be a high scoring game but Ipswich worryingly pulled one back with a well worked goal. Having focused on quick throw-ins recently, Jenson was able to take advantage of one down the wing and shot across goal which went in off the post.
Logan took the forward role for the last 5 minutes of the half and managed to bag one before Ipswich responded.
HT: 4-2 to Felixstowe.
We started the second half with a raft of changes and fresh legs. 2 goals from Kobie Abbott including a looping free-kick over the wall and into the far bottom corner from 15 yards gave us the 4 goal lead Ipswich needed to add an extra player. Amusingly, it didn’t take long for Ipswich to use it to their advantage as they reduced the deficit.
With 5 minutes left on the clock Logan made his final contribution with another goal to make the full time score 7-3 to F&W.
