Under 16 2017/18

Manager: Tamlyn Ward – Age 42

Born in St Andrews, Scotland, Tamlyn has been a resident of Felixstowe since the early 80’s, and has represented a number of local teams in the Felixstowe area through the years (including Kirton White Horse, and Harpers).

After a serious knee injury in 2004 his playing was reduced to a minimum and late in the 00’s Tamlyn took control (with his Brother Rick, of Sunday league Side Underwoods United for two and a half years, over that time the club won promotion to the Premier Division and claimed the Suffolk Sunday Senior Cup twice.

Since 1995 Tamlyn has been employed by MSC (Mediterranean Shipping Company) with an 11 years tenure as a Vessel planner/operator. For the last 3 years he has been working in London E1 within an operations committee that over sees the 2M (MSC & Maersk) vessel network.

Tamlyn has now managed the team through their last six years and will be taking the current “Cup Holders” into their final season of youth football assisted by good friend John - 5 of the boys have now played 100 plus League and cup games under the Management of Tam & John!

Tamlyn is also the manager for the Under 15 Girls side plus holding the position of Youth section chairman so most of his weekends are spent around the Goldstar Ground, when not there he will almost certainly be found at the Emirates stadium following his beloved Arsenal.

Assistant Manager: John Fawkes – Age 38

John was born in Barking, Essex but moved to Felixstowe with his family in 1983. Like Tamlyn he has played for various local sides, but spent the majority of his playing days with The Kirton White Horse Saturday team.

Interestingly John and Tamlyn played football at many of the same clubs, beginning at schoolboy level, and history repeats itself with their sons now playing together in the same side.

Although John retired from regular 11-a-side football a few years ago he made a recent comeback  with Felixstowe Harpers Vets…. alongside Tamlyn of course!

John has worked for Suffolk Coastal Port Health Authority since 2002 and he is a fully qualified Environmental Health Officer.

In his free-time John enjoys playing tennis, cycling, spending time with his family, and walking his pet schnauzers Hugo and Agnes! This is also John’s 3rd season within the whites management hierarchy.
