Welcome to Felixstowe & Walton United Football Club

Welcome to the Seasiders official website 2017/18.

2016 was the dawn of a new era for the club, an ever growing youth section, the first sod being turned and the first brick being laid for our new home.

The building of the clubhouse which we now call home was a long time in the planning & construction and it was all done with one objective, to take our club and all its teams, both senior and junior, to a better place on the football map!

Hopefully 2017/18 will see us consolidate our place and go from strength to strength.

Join us on the Journey, bring a friend, there’s room for everyone!

Reserves 3 Stowmarket Res. 1

Thurlow Nunn Reserve League

Saturday 24th February 2018

The Reserves came back from a goal down at the break to win 3-1 with goals from Harry Archer and a brace from 16 year old Jake Preston.

It was the home side that were clearly dominant in possession for large swathes of the game but they just couldn't turn their possession into goals, the Seasiders started brightly as Lewis Owen fed Rory Porter down the right hand side who seemed to be having a lot of time and joy to win a corner but the home side couldn't capitalise. Joe Hunt and Stuart Boardley had efforts over but it was the visitors who took an unlikely lead.

The seasiders lost the ball down the left side and as the ball came in the area Ash Holmes ghosted in unmarked to finish comfortably past Ben Punter to put the visitors ahead.

Maculey Howell had a couple of efforts from the right side and Boardley again tried his luck to no avail. Harry Archer who has been on a rich vein of form was unlucky after brilliantly cutting inside on the by-line but saw his effort go agonisingly wide beyond the far post.

The lads would have felt hard done by going into the break a goal down and had a slow start to the second half. Stowmarket applied the early pressure but the Seasiders defence stood firm as they have done in recent weeks to deny the visitors doubling their lead.

A Harry Archer cross and Lewis Smy header was saved and Joe Hunt blasted wide as the team started to question whether a goal would materialise with the home side camped inside the visitor’s half. However it was 16 year old substitute Jake Preston who made the difference, going forward with more conviction and found himself clear in the box to equalise. Another substitute, Lee Burns, shot wide as the home side pressed for the winner and it was Preston again who got something on the ball down the left, fed in by Louis Donovan-Perry to make it 2-1as the ball nestled into the corner of the net.

There was only one team in it as the visitor’s faded and after a Joe Allum long range effort went over it was Archer who finished with a well-directed cushioned header over the keeper, meeting Sam Segger's cross perfectly.

All in all a comfortable result and once again a delight to watch the young side playing some slick football. This result pushes the Seasiders up to 6th with a visit to bottom placed Long Melford next week.
