Newmarket 0-1 Felixstowe & Walton

 This was an all round tighter display by Felixstowe at Newmarket tonight which saw the Seasiders come away with a 1-0 win. In truth, it could, and perhaps should have been more. A hard working defence kept a clean sheet, which, following the 5-0 defeat at Whitton at the weekend was very welcome indeed.

 On the down side however was an injury to Kye Ruel on the stroke of half-time. First indications are that it’s an achilles problem. If this is the case we can expect a lengthy absence.

 It was Miles Powell who put Felixstowe ahead with a tap in after 21 minutes from a cross by Joe Francis who had been fed well by Jordy Matthews from midfield.

 Rhys Henry started today, having been unavailable last Saturday and Ben Frost was again in the squad coming on as a second half substitute. Also coming on as a sub. mid-way through the second half was A.Trialist who put in a lively display.

 Attention now turns to Saturday’s home friendly against Leiston FC, in what will certainly be a tough test.
