Chris & Stu's 92 in 92

Our very own set of twins are undertaking the '92 in 92 challenge' and plan to raise more than £2,500 for charity and the football club.

Stuart & Chris Daynes, both 41!!, will be visiting all 92 Football League, Championship & Premiership grounds in the space of 92 hours - a distance of approximately 2,500 miles - for Crohn’s & Colitis UK and Felixstowe & Walton United FC.

Chris has suffered with the debilitating Crohn’s Disease for 25 years and is currently undergoing intensive treatment at the Royal London Hospital, making the marathon trip even more of a challenge.

For those new readers to this page Chris Daynes, who together with identical twin Stuart volunteer at Felixstowe & Walton United and Chris, the Facilities manager at the club said: “We undertook a 24 hour tour of 39 Eastern Counties League Grounds last year to raise funds towards the football clubs project to re-build their dilapidated facilities to cater for the 22 junior and senior teams playing for Felixstowe & Walton United, raising over £1000 in the process. In order to raise more funds and support a charity that is close to my heart, we had to come up with a mammoth challenge and this epic tour has only been completed by a handful of others”.

“Crohn’s will make the task all the more difficult but we are both utterly committed to both causes and absolutely cannot wait to visit all of the football league grounds in less than 92 hours.”

The challenge will start at 6pm on Tuesday, April 18th from Colchester United’s Weston Homes Community Stadium and the journey will finish at Ipswich Town by 2pm on Friday 22nd April.

Chris added: “Crohn’s & Colitis UK do such a good job in raising awareness of the illnesses, supporting sufferers and funding research. The Football Club is at the heart of the community in Felixstowe and deserves to have facilities that are fit for purpose to enable them to continue to provide sporting opportunities for present and future generations in the area”.

“We want to raise money so people can continue to benefit from both causes."

The Daynes twins hope to raise £2,500 - £1 for every mile they will cover during the challenge - and are also looking for logistical support with contributions towards petrol, supplies and promotion of the trip.
